Dan Hotels Announce Re-Opening of Properties

Tel Aviv, Israel, 15^th May 2020; The recent worldwide crisis inevitably caused Israeli tourism to come to a halt – but now the Dan Hotel chain, has announced a return to doing what they do best – providing guests with luxury vacations.

Ronen Nissenbaum, CEO of Dan Hotels, commented today, “We have been working hard during this period to ensure our guests return to the highest level of safety and comfort. We have developed a detailed health charter, covering all areas, and are meeting the strict guide lines set out by the Israeli Ministry of Health.”

The Dan’s premier property in Tel Aviv, the Dan Tel Aviv, has remained open during the entire period, but as from next week, Dan Caesarea and Dan Eilat will also be receiving guests. Other hotels in the chain, will resume operations within the coming months after undergoing thorough disinfection and cleaning, with additional emphasis on areas where there is frequent contact, such as signs, electricity sockets, air conditioners, cupboard handles, doors and windows, tables, chairs, TV remote controls, telephone handsets and all surfaces and appliances in the bathrooms. During the cleaning process, the entire room will be ventilated. All laundry items will be washed at a temperature of 70⁰ – which is above the recommended Ministry of Health guideline. Public spaces inside and outside the hotel will also be thoroughly cleaned, including crockery, soft furnishings, drinking water systems and all devices. Social distancing will be introduced in all public areas, allowing guests to relax and enjoy their stay.

As part of the general recommendations by the Ministry of Health for the reopening of hotels, the entire building will be disinfected, each room in the hotel will undergo thorough cleaning with special disinfectants, as well as public and communal areas (bathrooms, halls, elevators, etc.),and all areas where food and drink is served. Also, the water supply systems, which were not used when the hotel was closed, will be cleaned.

On arrival to any Dan Hotel, all guests will have their temperature checked, using an advanced technological device, and will immediately receive a care package containing face mask, sanitizing gel and wet wipes. The room keys will be sanitized and placed in an envelope on the reception desk, waiting to be collected. At that time, guests will be asked to sign a health declaration and as long as they haven’t presented with a temperature of more than 37.8⁰will be welcomed into the hotel. Staff members will be subject to similar procedures and will observe the social distancing rules as far as possible. Dan employees will be encouraged to set an example to guests by wearing a mask at all times, using wipes and disinfectants. Sanitizing gel dispensers with a touchless sensor will be deployed at the entrance to all hotels and public areas.

Dan Hotels has a great reputation for providing high quality food options at all meals and this will continue to be the case, with the familiar high quality of food preparation and presentation being maintained. Various meals will be prepared and plated by the chefs and served to the guests at tables, instead of buffet style, in order to avoid guests touching food items by mistake, and also to prevent queues. Another option is to ask for room service, which will be free of charge.

The chain has developed an innovative app, (available in some properties) named “App to Dan”, in response to the new situation which will assist guests during their stay, by allowing them to perform various actions including check-in and check-out, opening the door to their room and various payments, all without making contact.

The pool will be opened and operated in accordance with the Ministry of Health guidelines at all times, and guests will be able to enjoy the outdoor areas and all public places, while keeping the required distance from each other. All of these areas have been marked out and are ready to receive guests. The gyms, pools, entertainment venues, the Danyland Clubs and synagogues will be fully disinfected and prepared accordingly, and certain children’s activities will be held outdoors.

The sandpit is just one of the key features of the Danyland club at the Dan Caesarea Resort. In an open and relaxed themed room, there is also a fantastic adaptation of the childhood 1980s electronic game, Simon, which has been converted into a fast-moving, competitive, fun, speed game on the wall.

Kids can also draw and color in their own creatures from the sea, feed them into a scanner and watch as their decorated clownfish and seahorses swim across a screen on a ‘digital aquarium.’
This summer’s theme for children across all of the Danylands is connected to the love of animals. The theme of animals will allow you to enjoy a raft of activities, including children’s literature about animals, animal games, children’s songs, and ‘library corners’ in the Danyland clubs, with a reading area for children and parents. At the Dan Panorama Tel Aviv, there will be a lively end-of-summer vacation party and a showing of Peter and the Wolf, by the Orna Porat Theater for Children and Youth, the most senior repertoire theater for young audiences.

Winter Escape
The Dan Hotels to Eilat Bike Tour: From Mountains to Desert

From sacred Jerusalem through to the beautiful Negev scenery to the shores of the breathtaking Red Sea, the Dan Active Winter Escape will take you from Jerusalem to Eilat. We will kick off with two wonderful days spent in Jerusalem, including bike tours through the four quarters of the Old City and other fascinating cultural and historic sites. A third day will take us from the pine forests surrounding the city to the incredible natural landscape of the rolling hills and Judean desert, exploring ancient caves dating back over 2,000 years.

Then we’ll bid farewell to Jerusalem after three delightful nights spent at the wonderful King David / Dan Panorama Hotel. Next, we’ll spend an extraordinary day at Masada, and then take a refreshing and healthy (yet salty) swim in one of the world’s wonders – the Dead Sea, the lowest natural point on Earth. Afterwards, we’ll set off for Eilat, where we’ll check into the pampering Dan Eilat / Dan Panorama Eilat Hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Our first day in Eilat will be spent exploring the city, visiting both the Egyptian and Jordanian borders and enjoying the golden beaches. The next day, we’ll tour the region, including beautiful natural and archeological sites, and an amazing scenic ride. On the final day, we’ll say goodbye to our luxurious hotel, and begin to travel northwards – with a stop at the natural and unique wonder of the Ramon Crater, followed by a ride to an ancient Nabatean stronghold and visit to the memorial to Ben Gurion, one of the founding fathers of the State of Israel. Then, we’ll board the bus back to the airport.

The King David Bike Tour: The northern tour

From lively Tel Aviv to alluring Caesarea, the towering Carmel to the stunning Galilee, and the mysteries of Jerusalem, the Dan Active’s bike tour of northern and central will take in many of the country’s greatest attractions. At the end of the day, you will take a well-deserved break at luxurious Dan Hotels – the perfect setting to reflect, relax and revitalize after a long ride.

After check-in at the Dan Tel Aviv / Dan Panorama Tel Aviv Hotel, our tour will begin with a bike ride around the city before heading off to coastal Caesarea, where we’ll stay at the relaxing Dan Caesarea Hotel. Following a morning tour of Mount Carmel, we’ll experience the beauty and archeology of the ancient Roman harbor, and enjoy the hotel’s fantastic spa and pool. On our way northwards, to the Dan Carmel Hotel overlooking Haifa, we’ll visit the historic cities of Safed, the ancient city of Acre, and then ride down to the beautiful northern Mediterranean coast.

The next day, we’ll head out to the beautiful Sea of Galilee, and cycle through some of Christianity’s holy sites – Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum – and alongside the majestic River Jordan, advancing southwards, enjoying a picnic on the way and swimming in natural springs and pools. After checking into Jerusalem’s famous King David / Dan Panorama Hotel, at the end of the day, the final two days will take in the mesmerizing Old City, modern Jerusalem, with its beautiful neighborhoods and national institutions. We’ll say goodbye to the city with a sunrise tour of the magnificent Old City, and say adieu to the hotel with a deluxe late breakfast. A cycling holiday to remember.
