A “Hotel Within a Hotel” - A New Concept at the Dan Jerusalem
The Dan Jerusalem Hotel offers individual guests a pampering hospitality package to go with a tranquil and private space in the prestigious King David wing. Have you already heard about the pillow menu?
Nestled on the slopes of Mt. Scopus and offering breathtaking views of the Old City and the Judean Hills, the Dan Jerusalem Hotel has managed to reinvent itself yet again: after the current renovations, which included turning about half the accommodation into executive rooms and suites in elegant, contemporary design, the next initiative is already underway under the intriguing title of “hotel within a hotel”.
“This is a unique concept aimed at the niche of individual clients which we wish to cultivate as a target market”, explains Yehuda Kraus, the hotel’s General Manager. “Since the hotel caters to large groups that occupy some 80% of the available rooms, we did not want individuals to feel lost in the crowd. With that in mind we have built a separate, independent setting in the King David wing, giving these guests a sense of being in a boutique hotel.”
A stay in the prestigious “King David wing”, with its luxury rooms and finely appointed suites overlooking the incomparable vista of Jerusalem, promises a first-class hospitality experience in an ambience of peace and quiet and privacy, but that is just the beginning of the good news… individual guests receive special ‘preferred client’ attention and a series of benefits designed to upgrade their vacation: their own reception desk for rapid check in, a personal concierge service and perhaps the best indication of concern for the individual and the desire to pamper guests as much as possible – a pillow menu allowing each person to choose their own degree of pillow firmness to ensure an excellent night’s sleep.
Guests in the “King David wing” are invited to spend their leisure time in the exclusive King David lounge, which offers light meals throughout the day , to sink into one of the leather armchairs in the intimate and calming ambience, or surf the web at one of the lounge’s free computers. For the health-seekers – there is free entry to the expansive spa with its heated indoor swimming pool, wellequipped gym, Turkish bath, wet and dry sauna, whirlpool and aerobic activities such as spinning and zumba, and a selection of health treatments for the body and soul.
The light rail is just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, and enables excellent access to the city center and all its attractions, and trippers will discover that the location of the hotel is the perfect starting point for jaunts into the desert region, to the Qumran Caves, the Dead Sea and Masada.
The Dan Jerusalem Hotel believes in the potential of the “hotel within a Hotel” concept to be a success and draw a new clientele, and there are plans to expand the package of benefits that will make it the perfect way to enjoy a vacation in Jerusalem and its environs.
