Jacques Rogge, IOC President at the Dan Tel Aviv Hotel
The IOC (International Olympic Committee) President, Dr. Jacques Rogge, arrived today in Israel as part of an official visit to the Middle East.
After meeting with Israeli President, Shimon Peres, Dr. Rogge arrived to the Dan Tel Aviv hotel with other IOC and EOC (European Olympic Committees) officials including IOC Vice President, Mario Pescante from Italy who represents the IOC at the United Nations, and EOC President, Patrick Hickey from Ireland. The guests were greeted by the Hotel's General Manger, Mr. Etai Eliaz.
All of the dignitaries will be staying at the Dan Hotels' luxury suites tonight.
Dr. Rogge will be staying at the spacious Presidential Suite that was well stocked with goodies by the hotel staff. Tomorrow morning he will be served a pampering breakfast of his choice in his suite.
This evening a festive reception in honor of the IOC President will be held at the renovated "King David" hall, overlooking the Mediterranean. At this event an IOC decoration will be awarded for sports being used as an inspiration to the younger generation. Later this evening a Gala Dinner and a press conference will be held at the hotel. Among the notable participants of this event are Knesset member, Limor Livnat and former Israeli basketball star, Tal Brody.
